Overview
Analyst Top Picks gathers the stock picks of the GNG research desk in one place. Each analyst on the desk keeps their own list of stock picks and writes the reasoning behind every one. Choose an analyst to read the thesis for each pick, review the company metrics shown with it, and see the date it opened.
Performance is shown pick by pick. Return Since Pick places each stock's return beside SPY, an S&P 500 index fund, over the same trading days, so you can judge the result in market context. When an analyst closes a pick, it moves below the active picks with its open and close dates, and its return stops at the close date.
If you are comparing stock picking services, look for written reasoning you can check, returns measured against an S&P 500 benchmark over the same period, and closed picks that stay in view. Analyst Top Picks shows all three. Read an analyst's reasoning and author page to see whether their style fits yours. It is included with GNG Pro and higher plans, and a free GNG account is the first step.

Inside the tool
Closed pick track record

Closed picks stay on the list with the date they opened and closed, so the full record stays visible.
Closed picks sit below the active ones under a track record divider, each with the date it opened and the date it closed. A closed pick's return is measured to its close date, so later price moves do not change it. The preview blurs the paid research details but keeps the dates and status visible.
- Tell current ideas apart from closed positions
- Read the opened and closed date of each closed pick
The analyst desk

Each GNG analyst keeps a live list of top picks, with a count of active picks and when the list was last updated.
The analyst desk shows a card for each analyst with their active pick count and when their list was last updated. Open a card to reach that analyst's picks and written reasoning. The preview blurs names and photos but keeps the layout and the nearby links to model portfolios.
- Choose the analyst whose research you want to read
- See when each analyst last updated their list
Capabilities
One list per analyst
Each analyst on the desk keeps a separate list. Picks are added with written reasoning, ordered on the list, and closed with a close date when the idea ends. The desk shows how many picks each analyst has active and when their list last changed.
Written analyst reasoning
Read the start of the reasoning in each row, then open the full text. The company name and ticker sit beside the thesis, and each row opens the stock's research page so you can check the business yourself.
Returns next to SPY
Return Since Pick shows the stock's return beside the return of SPY, an S&P 500 index fund, over the same trading days. On a computer, hover the figure for both returns to two decimals and the number of trading days counted. A pick without a stored return shows as pending.
Company research metrics
Each analyst chooses the metrics shown with the list. These can include Safety, Quality, rating, fair value, price, dividend yield, and P/E. Compare the research thesis with the available figures before deciding what to investigate further.
Continue your research
Open a ticker for company research, explore a model portfolio, or read the latest articles from the sidebar. These links connect each stock idea with the rest of the research in your GNG account.
Read on mobile
The desktop table becomes a list of pick cards on a phone. Read the reasoning, review the visible company metrics, and inspect status and available returns without navigating a wide research table.

Common questions
- How do GNG analysts pick stocks?
- Each analyst picks from their own research and writes the reasoning for every pick. The desk currently includes co-founder and CEO Adam Galas and contributing analysts Glenn Ford and Leo Nelissen, each with a public author page on GNG Research.
- How is each stock pick's performance measured?
- Each pick shows its return from the first trading day on or after the pick date, next to the return of SPY, an S&P 500 index fund, over the same days. A pick without a stored return shows as pending until one is available.
- Can I still see a stock pick after it closes?
- Yes. Closed picks stay on the analyst's list below the active picks, with the dates they opened and closed. Their return is measured to the close date, so later price moves do not change it.
- How often do analysts add new stock picks?
- There is no fixed schedule. Each analyst updates their own list, and the desk shows when each list was last updated.
- How much does Analyst Top Picks cost?
- Analyst Top Picks is included with GNG Pro and higher plans at no extra cost. Create a free GNG account first, then see current plan prices on the Products and Pricing page.
- Are top picks investment advice?
- No. Picks are the analysts' research opinions, published for information. They are not personalized advice or a recommendation to buy or sell.
